The Accelerated Master’s Program in Systems Engineering (AMP) enrolls 30 to 40 highly qualified students each year. The Program has a very hands-on admissions process. Prospective students receive personal responses and support every step of the way.
The first step in the admissions process is to submit a free preliminary application. We will review the information you provide promptly and respond with guidance on your eligibility for the program, what you may need to do to prepare for the program, and the next steps in the application process. If you are confident that you have satisfied the math requirements and know that this is the Program for you, you may submit the preliminary application and proceed immediately to the Official Application. Please see the Submit Official Application page for navigation tips.
You may always ask questions or check on the status of your preliminary application or your official application by emailing email@example.com.
The Accelerated Master’s Program uses a rolling admissions process and class size is limited. We encourage interested candidates to submit their applications early in the admissions cycle. The Accelerated Master’s Program year runs from late May through April. Prospective students may submit their official applications for the next cohort starting in mid-June.
Sometimes we find that otherwise strong applicants need to strengthen their math skills or fill in gaps in their preparation by taking additional courses or completing a self-study program. Professionals seeking a new career direction may need to take several courses in the year prior to their planned enrollment in order to satisfy the admissions requirements and prepare for the Program. If you need to take courses to meet the math proficiency expectations (or to refresh your skills), we will be happy to work with you to create a plan that will help you become a competitive candidate for admission and prepare you to be successful in the Program. You can read more about the math expectations and articulation plans on the Admissions Requirements page.
In conjunction with submitting your Official Application form, you must have official transcripts sent, including originals for any transfer credits from the institution where you took the course(s), and submit your GRE scores. (See the Follow Up, Deadlines, & Details page for information on GRE waivers.) Three recommendations are required. Two questions on the application form are the prompts for the essays. Interviews are not mandatory; however, we encourage you to meet the Executive/Academic Director and the Program Manager and learn more about the Accelerated Master’s Program at one or more of our information events.
Typically AMP applicants hear about the Accelerated Master’s Program from a friend or colleague, or from their employer, they visit the web site to find out more, and then attend an information event. Some prospective students first encounter the AMP when they are searching the Web for Systems Engineering graduate programs, and later discover that they know AMP students or alumni, or their company is familiar with the program. As you explore the Accelerated Master’s Program and consider your options for graduate education, we invite and encourage you to take an in-depth look at the AMP. Come for a class visit.
