Winter Weather Plans
We have reached the time of year when travel can be impacted by wintry conditions. Students, if you encounter weather problems that make travel dangerous, please use your best judgment about driving. We want you to arrive safely. If you will be significantly delayed or prevented from attending class, let the professor, graduate teaching assistant, program manager, and administrative generalist know as soon as possible. Obviously conditions can be fine in some areas and treacherous in others. If you need to miss class, the graduate teaching assistants can help you make a plan to make up the work you miss.
Make it a habit to check your UVA email and this page before heading to Charlottesville. We will post any weather-related announcements here and send an email to the class listserv as soon schedule changes are determined to be necessary. You can also call the University’s hotlines at 434-243-7669 or 434-924-7669 for messages about delays or closures of the entire school.
Because changing class weekends has a major impact on everyone, we always plan to have class if at all possible. If conditions cause cancellations of future AMP ’20 weekends, alternate weekends are scheduled for Feb. 28 & 29 and March 27 & 28 to make up those classes.
